BARREL PRACTICED CANCELED DUE TO RAIN 5/8/13
"I can not tell you, or anyone for that matter, how impressed I was about our experience at Latigo yesterday!!!! The office staff was very friendly and helpful, the participants were all warm and friendly, and the people running the gates and tractor were great! It was our first time there and my young horse was NOT impressed. I was able to get through the barrel pattern but took a long time to make it happen. I apologized for taking so much time to the man running the gate and he told me I did great and come back next time! I was expecting to get in trouble for taking so much time and for people to make fun of me or be frustrated for me having a silly horse but the people there were concerned that I was ok! These are all things that I really appreciate very very much because it isn't what I am used to. I am sorry for rambling on, but I just had to tell you how impressed I was with Latigo!!
Sincerely,
Amanda K."

LATIGO
Founded by the Pikes Peak Range Riders Foundation
The Cowboy Way
Your Word is Your Bond:
Honesty, integrity, ethical behavior and the strength of a handshake, making commitments and sticking to them, and understanding the power of a good reputation.
Stewardship of Resources:
Taking care of your horse before yourself, maximizing scarce resources, respecting and loving Nature, and leaving the trail better than you found it.
Freedom to Fail…and to Succeed:
Opportunities to try something new, climbing back on when you fall off, persistence, commitment, non-judgmental towards others, seeing the best in those around you and envisioning success.
Quiet Confidence:
Humility, self-reliance, awareness of personal strengths and limitations, and the ability to determine your own destiny.
Fierce Loyalty:
Sticking by your friends, recognizing those who have invested into you, a sustaining interdependent community, the forgotten art of hospitality, and being a good neighbor.
These values are not just words on a page, a list on a plaque, or flowery language – these concepts represent the core of who Latigo is and why Latigo exists. If Latigo can impart these values-ever diminishing in our culture-to the next generation, then Latigo will have been successful.
